The suspense has built up this past week about Camera 12 Cinema closing, much like the movies that were shown there.

Camera 12 Cinema is located in downtown San Jose. The cinema opened up in 1996 and closed its doors on September 8, 2016. The final movies that showed at the cinema were Suicide Squad and Morgan.

The owner Jack NyBlom announced that the revenue and maintenance rates have increased severely over the past couple years. The building is also not well structured so the longevity costs were highly expensive to maintain.

Overall NyBlom and his fellow owners determined the best decision was to close Camera 12 Cinema for good. San Jose residents and people around the Bay Area were completely saddened by the loss of their local cinema. On a final and happier note, Camera 12 is not the only movie theater in San Jose, so moviegoers will still be able view new films as they are released.
