Yes. Vape detectors are real. Schools across the country battle the growing numbers of students vaping in schools, administrators are now using technology in high school bathrooms to cut down on e-cigarettes. E-cigarettes vaporize a liquid that may contain nicotine and other flavorings, and when the liquid is heated into an aerosol. E-cigarettes are the most common tobacco product among the youth. E-cigarettes are used 11.3% by high school students and 4.3% by middle school according to ABC News.

Lincoln has purchased FlySense, the real-time vaping and elevated sound incident detection solution that gives you control of areas where you cannot place a camera. Their multi-sensor devices are capable of detecting vaping, smoke, and noise disturbances. FlySense tracts the environmental environment and air quality leave, when there is a spike in air quality FlySense alerts administration. With the FlySense app administrators can receive real-time text and email alerts when FlySense detects an environmental disturbance.

Vanessa Nava, a COA in the Main Office, says she “hopes it reduces the amount of kids smoking the the bathrooms.” Mr. Christian says “I hope it makes the campus a safer place.”
