Lincoln’s Badminton match against San Jose High, originally scheduled for April 1st, has been cancelled. The roof on the gym at San Jose High School, the oldest high school in San Jose, has been destroyed because of the 160 mph wind that mother nature created last night during the rainstorm. This wind was so fast it broke records in the whole world reaching the classification of a category 5 hurricane, which means it also registered a 12+ on the Beaufort Scale of windspeed. So due to the lack of a roof on the gym, the overcast and sunny day presents a problem for badminton players, resulting in a match cancellation.

The wind was so strong it blew all the shuttlecocks outside the gym and sent the all the shuttlecocks flying around the school like actual birds. So please if you by any chance walk by a shuttlecock please contact the Lincoln Badminton Team immediately, as all shuttlecocks have “flown the coop.”
