1/28 Recap: Women’s Varsity Soccer

Tuesday January 28th, Lincoln’s Varsity women’s team faced off against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals.

The exciting game seemed to have a fast start on both sides of the field. The Lincoln Lions scored a total of 1 goal, meanwhile Mt. Pleasant scored 2. To be more precise, the final score was 1-2, a loss to the women’s team.

The scorer for Lincoln was Kassandra De Leon, who has various goals in the league so far. De Leon is a top and very important player in the team, the team uses a lot of team work and even though they lost, they have proven to be an elite team in the league.

Most of the game was active, the first half consisted of running back and forth on the field trying to get a lead.  On the side of the Lincoln Lions, it seemed to be as if they were getting tired real fast because they kept running and playing hard on offense. The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals scored 2 goals in the first half and got comfortable in the second, playing solid defense. The second half consisted of the same offense for the Lions, trying to get 2 goals to tie the game and then see if they could get a 3rd goal to take the lead. The Cardinals had a great defense, but were committing a few errors.  One of these errors allowed De Leon to score a goal for the Lions to get closer on the scoreboard.

The match ended with a win for Mt. Pleasant, who advances its record to 4-6.  Meanwhile, Lincoln’s record is 3-7.
